What etiquette rules should stay forever?

 Here is my list of basic rules of etiquette: Speak politely to people, especially if you’re asking for help. Make a conscious effort not to interrupt people when they are speaking. Remember to say thank you if somebody has been of help to you. If you need to get by, say excuse me – don’t just barrel through a narrow space! Chew food with your mouth closed. Don’t talk with a mouthful of food. Hold the door open for the next person. Don’t lick the plate! Throw your garbage out. Clean up after yourself. If you are a dinner guest in someone’s home, offer to help clean up - and mean it! If you are invited to someone’s home for dinner, bring a small gift to show your appreciation. If you receive a gift, be sure to thank the person who gave it to you. Don’t floss your teeth in public. Don’t pick your nose in public!
